I think the slide show is just a matter of uploading the pictures to a web album (don't think you need to use Picasa) and then pasting the link in your blog html editor.
I am a Mac user too, and I used Flickr to create my slideshow and it is relatively simple. After you have loaded the photos you want for your slideshow the main thing to remember is that you then put these photos in a set. Then click on slideshow, and in here click on slideshow again and this will give the embedded link that you can copy in the html blog editor. Also see my post on Diana's blog for more details on doing this.
I think you can make a slideshow with the Web Album feature on your gmail (google) account. There's a download on the Picasa site in the middle on the bottom for this tool. BUT at any rate these photos are great. The shoe one is the one that really caught my eye. It looks like a painting...great lighting on it!

Your picture of the flowers through the sunglasses is a really creative response, I dont think that I could have come up with that!

I really like the light bulb and the roses. They both came out really nice, and the colors in the rose picture look great.
